William Müller

William Müller is a Partner at Align Public Strategies, where he leads integrated advocacy campaigns at the national, state and local levels. He has nearly 20 years of experience in public affairs, issue advocacy, stakeholder engagement and coalition building for Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and coalitions.

At Align, Müller directs public affairs, earned media and digital advocacy programs in healthcare, energy, telecommunications, technology, finance, agriculture, transportation and hospitality. His work ranges from ballot measures and legislative and regulatory campaigns to corporate reputation efforts. He often leads Florida strategy and execution for national campaigns run by Washington, DC–based public affairs firms.

Before joining Align, Müller was a Managing Director at PLUS Communications and Vice President of Issue Advocacy and External Partnerships at Gunster Strategies Worldwide. At both firms he managed national campaigns and advised clients on strategic messaging and advocacy. He was campaign coordinator on the campaign that won the American Association of Political Consultants' 2013 Excellence Award for Best Public Affairs Campaign of the Year.

Müller began his career by founding Müller Consulting Group, a grassroots and grasstops engagement firm, and building coalitions in communities across the country and abroad. That work shaped how he approaches advocacy: policy is decided in statehouses, county commissions and town halls as much as in Washington.

Müller lives in Cocoa Beach with his wife, Katie, who was raised on the Space Coast, and their two daughters. He is active in Brevard County's business and civic community.
